This is my most recent painting. The idea for her came from my other painting titled Moon Cycle in Gold. This speaks to me of awakening to the possibilities all around us, to my personal awakening to creativity. I was also thinking of the cycle of reproduction. My other title for this work is conception. The female reproductive cycle intrigues me because it is magical, divine, and sacred.
A painter of acrylic, oil, and/or mixed media, themes of feminine beauty, strength, and power have always been prevalent in Lisa’s art. Since embracing motherhood in the 90’s, the wonder of womanhood has become an even more essential part of her current pieces.
The use of bright colors and ever apparent orbs, dots, circles, and bright colors all symbolize life and joy. Universal themes of spirituality, sensuality, and beauty are expressed in her work.
