Even though The Sisters was painted quite a few years before the other Ladies, I categorize this work with the Ladies because of the female theme as well as the style of colors, lines, and orbs. Many women have empathized with this painting because of their own sister relationship. As I painted this I thought of not only actual sisters but also female friendships and also the relationship with oneself. I feel we all have another side, the ying-yang or counterpart to the self we let the world see.

A painter of acrylic, oil, and/or mixed media, themes of feminine beauty, strength, and power have always been prevalent in Lisa’s art. Since embracing motherhood in the 90’s, the wonder of womanhood has become an even more essential part of her current pieces.
The use of bright colors and ever apparent orbs, dots, circles, and bright colors all symbolize life and joy. Universal themes of spirituality, sensuality, and beauty are expressed in her work.
