This mixed media painting titled Unidad Sagrada/Sacred Unity was created in 2025 and exhibited in the month of August of the same year at El Barrio’s Artspace P.S.109 in NYC
This piece represents the duality of human experience as well as the sleeping and awakened self within all of us. This art work was made with acrylic paint, magazine strips, clay pieces and melted plastic from bags and menstrual product wrappers. It explores the complexity of being human.The purple flowers made from menstrual wrappers and the red roses cut out from magazines point to the possibility of growth and flourishing even in challenging circumstances. As I reflect on this painting I am grateful for letting my hands be guided by the divine feminine. We are all connected to HER, la Espiritu Santa that abides within us and embraces us with divine love.

A painter of acrylic, oil, and/or mixed media, themes of feminine beauty, strength, and power have always been prevalent in Lisa’s art. Since embracing motherhood in the 90’s, the wonder of womanhood has become an even more essential part of her current pieces.
The use of bright colors and ever apparent orbs, dots, circles, and bright colors all symbolize life and joy. Universal themes of spirituality, sensuality, and beauty are expressed in her work.
